We're beyond excited to introduce you to Andy Roth, a name that some of you might already know, while others might be discovering for the first time. Andy is our ninth coach in a series of nine amazing talents, and let us tell you, we're buzzing with excitement to have him on board. 

Not only is he fun and exciting, but he's also the brains behind the branding magic of our show. Yep, you heard that right. The iconic phrase "F**k it, be awesome" that you hear us say? That's Andy's brainchild, born out of a coaching session where he dropped this golden nugget of wisdom on us. 

Meet Andy Roth: Casting Director Extraordinaire 

So, who exactly is Andy Roth? His resume is as impressive as it gets. With over two decades of experience as one of New York's busiest casting directors, Andy has left his mark on over a thousand animation, commercial, television, film, and video game projects. From Pokemon to commercials for big names like Calvin Klein and Geico, Andy's casting prowess knows no bounds. 

Not only has he been voted the best voice-over teacher in New York not once, but twice, but he's also bagged two Telly Awards along the way. Oh, and did we mention his teaching gigs at some of the top-rated college acting programs in the country, including NYU, Rutgers, and Syracuse? Yeah, he's kind of a big deal.

Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty of Andy's coaching style. What sets him apart? Well, for starters, Andy's approach is all about preparing you for the real world of auditions and gigs. From Classroom to Casting Room: Andy's Journey

His journey into casting began when he worked as an assistant at an agency called CESD, which later became CESD Talent Agency. There, he learned the intricacies of voice-over casting and developed a deep appreciation for the industry. Over time, he transitioned into the role of an in-house booth director, where he managed and upgraded equipment for the booth and directed most of the castings, primarily focusing on voice-over projects.

During his tenure in casting, Andy Roth has cultivated a philosophy that centers around facilitating auditions as collaborative opportunities rather than tests. He emphasizes understanding the actor's suitability for a particular role based on various factors, including voice quality, personality, attitude, and ability to work within a team. His approach to auditioning aims to instill confidence in actors and empower them to showcase their unique strengths while aligning with the project's requirements.
