Hey there, it's Natasha! I'm so excited to take you behind the scenes of my recent trip to a voice conference in Dallas. It was my first time visiting Dallas, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
From the moment I arrived, I could feel the energy buzzing in the air - I couldn't wait to meet up with my VO besties and dive into all the conference had to offer.
In the morning, I headed to the conference venue, eager to soak up all the knowledge and connect with fellow voice-over enthusiasts. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone sharing their passion for the craft.
Sessions
The sessions I participated in were nothing short of amazing. One of the highlights was the workshop on animation voice-over, where I learned about the art of bringing animated characters to life through voice acting. It was fascinating to see how a character's personality can be conveyed through vocal nuances.
Another session that stood out to me was the one on online casting by Karen Guilford. As someone navigating the digital landscape of voice acting, I found the insights shared by industry experts invaluable. From creating a standout audition to leveraging online platforms, I walked away with practical tips to enhance my online presence.
The session on promotional voice-over was also incredibly informative. I gained valuable insights into the industry trends and learned how to tailor my approach to promotional voice acting. It was inspiring to hear from professionals who have made a mark in this competitive field.
One of the highlights of the conference was the panel discussion on the future of voice-over technology. We delved into how technology is reshaping the industry and discussed the exciting opportunities it presents for voice actors. It was a thought-provoking discussion that left me feeling excited about the future of voice acting.
I also had the pleasure of attending a session by Shelley Avalino, who shared valuable tips on international marketing for voice-over artists. Her expertise in bridging the gap between different markets was truly inspiring, and I left with a renewed sense of confidence in my ability to expand my reach globally.
New Tools
In addition to the presenters, I was also introduced to some cutting-edge voice-over tools that are revolutionizing the industry. One such tool is Positron, which overlays scripts onto audio files to ensure script accuracy and streamline the editing process. I was amazed by how this tool can significantly reduce editing time and enhance the overall quality of my work.
Another tool that caught my attention was Voice Overview, a business tracking and management platform designed specifically for voice actors. From tracking earnings to managing invoices and building client relationships, Voice Overview offers a comprehensive solution for voice actors looking to streamline their business operations.
Throughout the conference, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the supportive atmosphere. The organizers did an incredible job of creating an environment where everyone felt empowered to take their careers to the next level.
Overall, my trip to the voice conference in Dallas was unforgettable. I learned so much, made new connections, and left feeling inspired and ready to take on new challenges in my voice-over career.
